Terms of Service
Last updated 11 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and devmesh, a software studio in Manitoba, Canada ("we", "us"), for your use of Siteseen: the Android and iPhone apps, this website, and the dashboard. The apps capture site visits on your phone and, while your trial or subscription is active, upload them to your account by themselves; the dashboard at siteseen.app is where you open and download them. By creating an account or using Siteseen, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains what we do with your data and forms part of these terms.
1. Who can use Siteseen
Siteseen is a professional tool. To create an account you must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, and at least 18. If you use Siteseen on behalf of a team, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms for it.
2. Your account
An account is for one person. Give us an email address you can receive mail at, keep your password to yourself, and tell us at support@siteseen.app if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account unless it happens because of a failure on our side.
A team can bring its people together on Siteseen. The team's owners invite colleagues by email, and each person keeps their own account and signs in on their own. Joining a team does not move or copy anyone's visits. Section 5 says what sharing means.
3. The trial
Each person gets one free trial. It is ready when you confirm your email address. Its 14 days start on your first site visit, and if you make no visit within 30 days of confirming, the trial ends unused. No payment card is needed. We keep a one-way code derived from the email address to make sure each person gets only one trial, as the privacy policy explains.
4. Subscriptions and payment
Paid subscriptions are not on sale yet, and we take no payment of any kind. When your trial ends, section 7 applies. Before we take any payment, these terms will say who takes it, and set out the price, renewal, cancellation and refunds, and we will email you about the change as section 13 describes.
5. Your content
Everything you capture is yours: photographs, voice notes, notes, measurements, locations, and the reports made from them. We claim no ownership of any of it.
You give us permission to store, copy, process and display your content only so far as we need to run Siteseen for you. That means syncing it, keeping it, and showing it back to you on the dashboard and on your devices. This permission ends when the content is deleted. We do not sell your content, use it for advertising, or give it to anyone for their own use.
You are responsible for having the right to capture what you capture. That includes permission to be on a site and to photograph it, and to record anyone whose voice is on a voice note.
Sharing inside a team. If you are in a team, you choose who can see each site you create: just you, a group, or named people. Anyone you share a site with can see its visits and download them. Team owners can see every site in the team, including sites you kept to yourself, and can delete a visit in any team site. A deleted visit can be restored for 24 hours. You are responsible for sharing client work only with people who are allowed to see it.
If you leave a team, or an owner removes you, the sites you made stay with the team and a team owner takes them over. The visits you captured remain on your own account and on your phone, and the people they were shared with can no longer reach them through you. The team's owners decide who is in the team and who is an owner.
6. Siteseen is not an archive
Photographs, voice notes and generated reports are kept for 30 days after a visit was last worked on, synced or restored to a phone, and then deleted. We email you 7 days before that happens. The visit record (notes, measurements, positions and transcripts) is kept for as long as your account exists. Each account also has a storage limit and a monthly limit on satellite map use. Uploads stop at the storage limit, and the satellite map stops at the map limit until the next month. Keep your own copy of anything you need for longer. Download it from the dashboard. Our privacy policy sets out every retention period.
7. If your trial or subscription ends
You can no longer start new visits or use the satellite map. You can still finish a visit you had already started. Work you captured before it ended can still finish uploading for 30 days afterwards, so that nothing is left with only one copy on a phone. You can still open and download everything already on your account from the dashboard, until it expires under section 6 or you delete your account. We do not delete anything early because a subscription or trial has ended.
8. Measurements are estimates
Siteseen's measurements are field estimates, not a survey. A measurement scaled from a photograph depends on the reference length you mark and the angle of the shot. A position depends on the phone's GPS, which can be off by metres. Siteseen shows its own accuracy for each one, but it is not a substitute for a licensed survey or a stamped engineering drawing. You are responsible for applying your professional judgment before relying on a Siteseen measurement, position or report in your work or in anything you give a client.
9. Acceptable use
Do not:
- use Siteseen to break the law or to infringe anyone's rights;
- copy, bulk-download or store the satellite map imagery outside the app. It is licensed to us from MapTiler for display in Siteseen only;
- try to get around how the service checks that requests come from a genuine copy of the app, or reverse engineer the apps or the service, except where the law allows it regardless of these terms;
- overload, probe or interfere with the service, or reach it by any route other than the apps and this website;
- share an account, or resell access to Siteseen.
10. The service itself
We work to keep Siteseen available and your data safe, but we do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or free of errors. The app is designed to work without a connection, so an outage on our side should not stop you capturing a visit. We may change, add or remove features. If we remove something you are paying for, we will tell you first.
11. Liability
Siteseen is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss of profit, business or data, arising from your use of Siteseen. That includes decisions made using its measurements. Our total liability to you for anything arising from these terms or Siteseen is limited to the amount you paid us for Siteseen in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under consumer protection law that cannot be limited by agreement.
12. Ending this agreement
You can stop at any time by deleting your account, as described in the privacy policy. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. Unless the breach makes it impossible, we will first tell you what is wrong and give you a chance to download your content.
13. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will email you at least 30 days before the change takes effect. If you continue to use Siteseen after that, you accept the new terms. If you do not accept them, delete your account before then.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Manitoba and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and disputes go to the courts of Manitoba. This does not take away any right you have to bring a claim where you live under that place's consumer law.
